2012-2013 YVCC Scholarship Awarded to Amelia Campbell 

Yakima Campus-Yakima Valley Community is proud to announce the scholarship from the Office of the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services is awarded to Amelia “Amy” Campbell. Awarded annually through the YVCC Foundation this scholarship, is given in the amount of $1,000 for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Campbell, a scholastically driven senior at Naches High School maintains a 3.990 GPA, and has earned a membership to the National Honor Society. Ranked No. 7 in her class, she has taken several advanced placement courses in the areas of English and chemistry and will be salutatorian at her high school graduation in June. Involved on campus she participates in Jazz Band, Prep Band, Marching Band, Concert Band, and Cross Country. In addition she gives back to the community through bell ringing for the Salvation Army, working as a library aide, and tutoring in music. Campbell is very deserving of this award, and looks forward to continuing her education at YVCC in the fall. She then plans to transfer to a four-year college and pursue a degree in chemical engineering.
