YVCC hosts Summer Athletic Camps

Basketball Camp: Basketball fundamentals students will learn include: ball handling, passing, rebounding, offensive movement, shooting, defensive responsibilities and fastbreak. Cost is $110 or $30 per day; there is a $10 discount for each brother/sister or teammate registered at the same time. YVCC’s Individual Skills Basketball Camps feature motivated speakers, shooting competitions, station fundamentals, daily games, an awards ceremony, and a free t-shirt.
Head basketball coach, Cody Butler, and his staff oversee all aspects of this camp, using their expertise, guidance, and leadership to increase each camper’s abilities in the game of basketball. Staff this year will include former Long Beach star and current YVCC player, Brandi Henton as well as former YVCC and Idaho State standout, Andrea Blodgett. Coaches include Kim Breymeyer, with 25 years of coaching experience and new coach Brittany Weaver. Brittany just finished a stellar career play at YVCC and Evergreen State.

Softball Camps: Hosted in conjunction with Yakima Steelers, this softball camp will help participants improve their hitting, pitching, outfield, and infield play. Cost varies depending on session(s). Volleyball Camp: This camp is geared toward all beginning, intermediate and advanced players who would like to improve their skills and abilities. Cost is $85.00 per session. Each camper will receive instruction in the latest techniques for setting, passing, serving, spiking, blocking, resistance training, and defense. Basic team concepts of offense and defense will also be covered. In addition, each camper will receive a free camp t-shirt.
